Oceanside, California Travel Guide

Hi friends! I'm finally getting around to sharing a little bit about our spring trip to Oceanside, California. This is long overdue! Sorry for the late post, but this was actually right around the time while I was 8-9 weeks pregnant on our trip, so being extra tired and nauseas came right along with all of the fun we had... Haha! But we had a blast traveling with our sweet friends, enjoying lots of local fun and sunshine with our families.

I thought I would share a few of the places we visited and loved, and share some kid-friendly restaurants we enjoyed dining at with our little ones. This is our third trip taking the kiddos to California, and every time we have had an absolute blast! We love the beaches and we love the weather... and it really doesn't get much better than that.

We ended up staying in Oceanside {located near Carlsbad, CA} and renting a home right on the ocean with friends. What a view we had... It was amazing! The town was quite quaint, with some really cute beach parks and local eateries nearby. We loved taking the kiddos to the Oceanside Pier, and checking out the surfers and fishing going on nearby. The beach located near the pier also had two adorable parks which our kids loved! This was an easy walk from our rental home for us, so it was fun grabbing a coffee nearby and heading to the park.

Breakfast...

We loved grabbing a quick bite to eat {and coffees!!} from Better Buzz. LOVE that place and the avocado toast. We also checked out breakfast one morning at Banana Dang Coffee, which was amazing! The cutest little coffee shop which also offers the best smoothies and HUGE loaded toasts. We loved the "nutty banana" toast, but the "green fire" toast was my favorite. YUM!!

Dinner... So many awesome places to eat on our trip! We tried out a few restaurants with our little ones which we LOVED. We went to happy hour one night at Hello Betty's Fish House. YUM! The fish tacos were awesome, and they had lots of great happy hour specials: both food and drinks. Another great restaurant we enjoyed taking our kiddos to was Bagby Beer Company. This brewery was so cute and had the best outdoor patio. We loved hanging outside with our friends, letting the kiddos play. The menu here was SO good. We ordered about one of everything, and it was all delicious!

Places to Visit... Since we visited California in March, a must-see was going to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. This wasn't a far drive from Oceanside, so we wanted to take our little ones and check this place out! What an awesome view the fields were. Just beautiful! We could have honestly spent a lot of our day here, the fields were huge!! We ended up taking a tractor ride through the fields, which was extra fun for the kids {of course}.

Also, right across from the Flower Fields in Carlsbad is the Carlsbad Premium Outlet mall. My girlfriend and I ventured over to the mall one afternoon while our kiddos napped... Such a great outdoor mall to walk around and get some shopping in! We checked out Tory Burch, Gap Kids, the Disney store, amongst a bunch of other cute shops.

All in all, I would completely recommend checking out these fun spots for your next vacation. I would gladly head back to California in a heartbeat! There are so many great beaches, restaurants, and kiddo-friendly spots... Our crew loves visiting Cali! Last October we actually stayed in San Diego, another beautiful spot I would recommend vacationing too with the family or with your favorites!
