Nursery Sneak Peek
Hi friends! Our weather continues to be FREEZING here with below zero temps, so the kiddos and I have been spending a lot of time at home lately. It's actually been really nice!
I've been able to really clean and organize our home. It feels SO great to be getting rid of the bulk, and attempting to minimize certain spaces in our home.
During these last few cold winter months, my husband and I have finally gotten around to getting our sweet Griffin's nursery room all set up. Yes, he is 10 months. Yes, setting up his room happened so slowly and late in the game compared to Karsyn's room! I think that's just part of being the second child...
I blame part of that on the fact that Griffin just recently started sleeping in his room, so there was no rush on our part. I also have a hard time hanging pieces up if I truly do not love them... I'm so happy we took our time on decorating his room!
The big reason it took a little extra time to decorate Griff's room was mostly because we didn't find out the gender of our sweet baby boy until he was born. Some of you may be new to my blog and following along with my little family, but with our first pregnancy with Karsyn we did find out the gender at 20 weeks, yet this time around on our second pregnancy we decided to wait. I LOVED not finding out what we were having all throughout the pregnancy. It was one of the best surprises I've ever had, and I think my husband would have to agree!
I originally had planned on the nursery having a gender neutral animal theme... My husband isn't into all the home decor details, so that's my thing, which I love! For the original theme I had in mind, think baby giraffes, baby elephants, baby animals, everything was along those lines. However, once Griffin was born, I wasn't really sold on this 'baby animal' theme anymore... Griffin was our sweet little boy, and I really wanted to create a room that he can grow into, and not grow out of...
If that makes sense.
I love his little room so much! Just like his big sister's room, these clearly are my favorite rooms in our home. I wanted to share a few of the details in Griff's nursery. I'd say his room has a little man cave, travel, boy theme... The sweet little straw hats on the wall are one of my favorite details in his room!
They are so boyish and perfect for his room.
I'll share where I found these room decor pieces from below.
I still am planning on changing this white dresser out. We purchased this before we knew Griffin was a boy, and I feel its a little too girly... I haven't found a dresser I quite love yet for his room. So in the meantime, he's using this one, but eventually I think I'll move this dresser into Karsyn's room. I love it!
P.S. These curtains are from Target. We actually used these curtains in Karsyn's nursery, and LOVE them! Yet, in our new home, Karsyn's room requires a more room-darkening shade... I love the fact that we still get to now hang these neutral curtains in Griff's room. They have the perfect pop of yellow in them!
